The massive stack of changes is detailed in this article

TL;DR

  • New look with less steps
  • Shopping cart that follows you through the process
  • Anonymous guest checkout for spectators with an email. No account required!

Bracket Rendering and a New Look for Phases

  • Better support for complex bracket structures. No more random floating matchlets!
  • More robust rendering algorithms, should never be a case where a bracket temporarily looks wrong.
  • Phases are displayed with some fresh UI, much easier on the eyes 😳

New Standings Table

  • Teams look better too

Shop UI Overhaul

  • Your shopping cart is now located in the top right corner! No more scrolling all the way down to see the goodies you have selected 👀

Match start times

  • If you are 24 hours within your match, your time will display in the left navigation bar
  • If your match is more than 24 hours out, it will still display on a blue banner on tournament pages
  • The blue banner now also appears for in-person tournaments rather than only online tournaments.
  • A blue badge will appear next to your upcoming event in the nav bar within 1 hour of said event

Tournament and League pages

  • Now support Markdown Tables!

FFA Self Reporting

After playing games players will be prompted to enter the results of their own games. The organizer then has options to accept or edit the results provided by the players.

Discord OAuth

Now you can associate your discord and smash.gg accounts on your profile. Although, you cannot enable registration based on discord accounts… Yet™

Prizing Breakdown

  • See specific prize pool breakdowns for each event on your tournament home page.
  • Set breakdowns on a per-event basis.

New for Organizers:

New Add Attendee and Confirmation Flow

It is quicker and easier to add attendees quickly to your event. Read more here

  • Quicker forms allow for faster signups at in-person tournaments.
  • If a player does not have a smash.gg account, enter a tag and their email so they can claim the account post-event.
  • Change the account associated with a player’s results in a tournament if they happened to enter with the wrong email.

Event-Level Twitch Sub Requirements

Now you can have multiple events require subscriptions to different twitch partners in the same tournament.

Bug Fixes:

  • Gamertag search results are more consistent across the site
  • Font size updates to help with accessibility
  • Deck deadline cloning no longer ignores certain settings
  • fixed certain types of products not being available to purchase in registriation
  • Fixed users not being able to claim a code if registration was not completed
  • css is awesome
  • fixed a rare case where shipping cost estimates were slightly off cases
  • Fixed a bug in check-in where TOs couldn’t use reshuffle if they had two phases running at different times.
  • Fixed a bug where page headers were centered and looked bad
  • Updates to tournament cloning to cover more cases and options

That’s it! If you have any questions, concerns, or want to send our team some sourdough 🍞, contact support@smash.gg.
